Lucknow: In a shocking incident, a Flipkart delivery boy was murdered in Barabanki over an unpaid order. The body of 30-year-old Bharat Verma, a resident of Nishatganj, was thrown into the Indira Nahar canal after the brutal crime. According to the police, Bharat had gone to deliver two Android phones that had been ordered online. However, instead of making the payment, the culprits decided to kill him. The delivery boy had picked up the phones from a warehouse on Satrikh Road in Chinhat and was last seen on September 24.
Probe underway
When Bharat did not return, his family became worried and reported him missing the next day, on September 25, at Chinhat police station. The police immediately launched an investigation and arrested two suspects, Gajanan and Akash, who later confessed to the crime.
During questioning, the accused revealed that after killing Bharat, they had packed his body in a sack and dumped it into the Indira Nahar canal in Barabanki. The police, along with the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), are currently searching for Bharat’s body in the canal near the Mati area of Barabanki . Chinhat police are continuing their investigation into this tragic case.
Bengaluru woman murdered, body dismembered
The incident occurred just days after a woman’s dismembered body was found stored in a refrigerator, in Bengaluru’s Vyalikaval area. The police said that the body was found near Veerana Bhavan in Malleswara, Bengaluru and the victim has been identified as Mahalakshmi.
Police reports said that Mahalakshmi’s maggot-infested remains were first found by her mother and elder sister, who had gone to visit her after the building owner complained of a foul odour coming from her residence. Upon entering, they were horrified to find her body cut into more than 50 pieces. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the case.
