Mirzapur road accident: A speeding truck hit a tractor-trolley in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, killing 10 workers on the spot and injuring three others. The truck driver fled the spot and police are investigating the accident.

Mirzapur: A tragic road accident took place in Uttar Pradesh’s Mirzapur in which a speeding truck hit a tractor-trolley on the Varanasi-Prayagraj National Highway near Katka village in Kachwan police station area early on Friday morning. The collision was so intense that the tractor trolley shattered and the tractor overturned into a nearby drain.
Unfortunately, 10 workers who were travelling in the tractor-trolley lost their lives on the spot. Three other workers were seriously injured and have been taken to Varanasi Trauma Center for treatment.
Workers were residents of Varanasi
The workers, originally from Bhadohi, were returning home to Ramsinghpur Mirzamurad, Varanasi, after completing roof work when the accident took place. Upon receiving the information, the police quickly reached the site to assess the situation.
Superintendent of Police Abhinandan said that the truck struck the tractor trolley from behind, leading to the deaths of 10 workers. The truck driver fled the spot and the bodies of the deceased were sent for post-mortem examination.
Three seriously injured
The workers who lost their lives were identified as Bhanu Pratap, Vikas Kumar, Anil Kumar, Suraj Kumar, Sanohar, Rakesh Kumar, Prem Kumar, Rahul Kumar, Nitin Kumar, and Roshan Kumar—all residents of Birbalpur Mirzamurad and Ramsinghpur Mirzamurad villages. The injured, identified as Akash Kumar, Jamuni and Ajay Saroj, are also from the same villages.
The accident happened around 1 am. After the crash, a large crowd gathered at the site, and there was chaos as the damaged vehicles blocked the road. The police called in a JCB to remove the wreckage. The families of the deceased have been informed, and further investigations are underway to find the truck driver responsible for the incident.
