Situation worsened due to heavy rain in Gujarat, CM Patel spoke to collectors on phone, gave strict instructions
Ahmedabad. These days heavy rains in Gujarat have made life difficult for people. Although people are facing the brunt of rain in all the districts of Gujarat, but these days the situation in South Gujarat is very bad, most of the rivers in the south of the state are flowing on both banks. Due to this, low lying areas of Navsari and Valsad are getting flooded. People trapped in these areas are being transported to safe places by the system. Seeing the situation in these areas, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel spoke to the collectors of Valsad and Navsari districts on phone and gave necessary instructions.
CM Bhupendra Patel got information that the situation has worsened due to heavy rains in Valsad and Navsari districts. As soon as the information was received, CM Bhupendra Patel spoke to the collectors of Valsad and Navsari and took stock of the situation in the area. He also gave several instructions to the officials. CM Patel has asked the collectors of Valsad and Navsari to evacuate the people of low-lying areas of the district to safe places and work together cautiously in case of floods. Also asked to deal with this problem in a better way.
Highest rainfall in Navsari and Valsad
Let us tell you that in the last 24 hours maximum rainfall has occurred in Navsari and Valsad districts. In this, Khergam taluka of Navsari district has received 9 inches of rain, while Dharampur and Valsad taluka of Valsad district have received 7 inches of rain. Apart from this, Kaprada taluka of Valsad district and Chikhali and Vansda of Navsari district together have received 6-6 inches of rain. Along with this, 5-5 inches of rain has occurred in Waghai and Pardi talukas. According to the information given by Gujarat’s Emergency Operation Center-Gandhinagar, there is rain in many areas of the state at 6 am on Monday (August 5, 2024).
