Suzuki launches GSX-8R at Rs. 9.25 lakhs
This bike is more expensive than Maruti Brezza
Maruti Motorcycle India has taken the market by storm with the middleweight parallel twin GSX-8R. Its price is Rs 9.25 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). This sports bike was showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024 earlier this year. Although the fully faired GSX-8R is built on the same platform as the naked GSX-8S, it is powered by the same 776 cc parallel twin engine as the V Strom 800DE.
Suzuki GSX-8R : Engine
The GSX-8R is powered by a 776cc 2-cylinder liquid-cooled V twin engine with a 270-degree crankshaft. Its output is 81.8 bph at 8500 rpm and 78Nm of torque at 6800 rpm.
The engine is fitted with two counterbalancers, one at the front and the other at the rear, which damp out vibrations and provide a comfortable ride experience. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with assist and slipper clutch. The GSX-8R rides on Dunlop Road Sport 2 radial tyres, which provide extra grip in wet conditions. It has twin 310 mm front disc brakes and a 240 mm rear brake. Apart from this, it also has Showa SFF-BP inverted front forks and mono shock link type rear suspension with adjustable spring preload.
Suzuki GSX-8R : Features
The GSX-8R has a razor sharp design with a pointed nose that houses a pair of hexagonal LED headlights. The sports bike has a customizable 5 inch color TFT LCD multifunction instrument panel. It reads information about all the systems and real-time status of the bike. It has three riding modes – A, B and C – with the most responsive and three traction control modes. For responsive acceleration and quick shift gears, the GSX-8R comes with Ride by Wire technology and Bi Directional Quick Shift System.
