While decamping with the valuables, the robbers took the head of the family with them to the forest. Later, they left him there after threatening him that his family will face dire consequences if he reports the matter to the police.

New Delhi: In a shocking incident, half a dozen masked men broke into a house and committed robbery while holding the family members at gunpoint on Saturday night, Amar Ujala reported. The incident was reported from village Ajmatgarh of Mansoorpur police station area in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar.

The robbers decamped with jewellery, cash and valuables worth Rs 8 lakh. While decamping with the valuables, they took the head of the family with them to the forest. Later, they left him there after threatening him not to report the matter to the police. SP City reached the spot and gathered information about the incident.

They threatened to shoot them dead

On Saturday night, Deepak was sleeping on the second floor of his house with his wife Ruby and little daughter Ruhi. Around 12:30 at night, half a dozen robbers jumped over the wall and entered the house. They held the family sleeping in the room at gunpoint. After taking them hostage, they asked for the keys of the cupboard. They threatened to shoot them dead if they made any noise.

The scared family gave away the keys of the cupboard to the criminals. The gang then took away Rs 1,47,000 kept in the cupboard and gold and silver jewellery, a home theatre. They also took away the earrings of the woman. After receiving information, the police reached the spot immediately and gathered information about the incident. In the morning, SP City Satya Narayan Prajapat also reached the site and after taking information from the victim’s family, he ordered action and investigation into the incident. The victim have filed a written complaint with the police.

Gang stayed in house for 2 hours

The robbers stayed in the house for about two hours. Three of them searched the cupboard and the box. Two criminals held the couple hostage at gunpoint. One criminal kept looking outside. After looting for about two hours, the criminals took Deepak with them to the jungle. They left him after taking him for one kilometer. The criminals also took away dry fruits and the bed mattress.

Deepak told the police that he had to get a sale deed of one bigha land done on Monday. Therefore, money was kept in the house. Apart from this money, jewellery worth Rs 8 lakh had been robbed.
