Final round match of 29th Senior Women NFC from 10th December
New Delhi, 26 November (HS). The final round matches of the 29th Senior Women’s National Football Championship, being played for the Rajmata Jijabai Trophy, will start from December 10. All these matches will be played at Ramakrishna Mission Ashram ground in Narayanpur, Chhattisgarh. Ten teams will face each other in the final round, including the eight winners from the group stage and two finalists from last season (Manipur and Haryana) who have been divided into two groups of five each.
Releasing the schedule on Tuesday, the All India Football Federation said that the top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals to be played on December 21. The final will be held on 23 December. Last season’s winner Manipur has won this title a record 22 times, while West Bengal and Tamil Nadu have won two titles each. Odisha and Railways have been crowned champions once each.
