Fire breaks out at Japan’s space station, rocket engine testing halted
Tokyo, 26 November (Hindustan Reporter). Japan’s space agency ‘Aerospace Exploration’ (JAXA) halted testing of the Epsilon S rocket engine after a fire at the Tanegashima Space Center in southwestern Japan. The launch of the S rocket engine was to take place at the end of March next year. Due to this failure this launch may now be delayed. Top government spokesman Hayashi said rocket development is vital to ensuring the autonomy of Japan’s space program. Notably, JAXA has partnered with heavy machinery manufacturer IHI to develop the Epsilon S, the next generation in the Epsilon solid-fuel small rocket series. Has partnered with the aerospace unit.
