Cold in Delhi and rain in many states

Delhi: Cold has knocked in many parts of North India including Delhi. The first snowfall of this season has also started in the mountains. Due to this, cold has started increasing in the plains. A significant drop in morning and evening temperatures is being observed. Light cold wind has been blowing in Delhi-NCR since Monday evening.

Two days yellow alert in Delhi
Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the minimum temperature of Delhi was recorded at 14 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. This temperature of Delhi is 2.7 degrees more than normal. Yellow alert has been issued for Thursday and Friday (28 and 29 November) in Delhi-NCR.

Visibility may be reduced due to fog
Issuing the alert, the Meteorological Department said that visibility may reduce in the coming days due to dense fog. Due to this, the temperature will drop further in the morning and night. There are chances of increasing cold.

Alert for Himachal, Punjab and Haryana also
Apart from Delhi-NCR, IMD said that the weather is changing rapidly in different parts of Himachal Pradesh. There is a possibility of dense fog in the morning in Himachal during 27th to 30th November. Dense fog has also been predicted in Punjab and Haryana for the next three days.

It is raining heavily in these states
On the other hand, heavy rains are occurring in many parts of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry and Kerala. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the deep pressure area over the south-west Bay of Bengal may turn into a cyclonic storm by Wednesday. In the next two days, it may cross the coast of Sri Lanka and move towards Tamil Nadu.

As of 8.30 am on Tuesday, the weather department said the deep depression was centered about 310 km south-east of Trincomalee, 710 km south-southeast of Puducherry and 800 km south-southeast of Chennai.

Cyclonic storm moving towards coastal areas of Tamil Nadu
IMD said, ‘It is very likely to continue moving towards north-northwest and turn into a cyclonic storm on November 27. After this, it will cross the coast of Sri Lanka and continue moving towards the coastal area of ​​Tamil Nadu in the next two days.
