IPL 2025: KKR Picks Top Players but Misses Out on Captain – Three Players Revealed as Potential Leaders
The much-awaited auction process for IPL 2025 has been completed. Last year’s winner, KKR, was also seen participating enthusiastically during the auction. The franchise has added several winning players to its squad for the upcoming season, but who will lead the team? No experienced captain has been identified in the current lineup. In such a situation, if we talk about the three players who could take over the command of KKR for IPL 2025, their names are as follows:
1. Ajinkya Rahane
Surprisingly, KKR bought Ajinkya Rahane in the auction pool. In IPL 2024, Rahane played 13 matches, scoring 242 runs at an average of 20.16, with a strike rate of 123.46. He hit no fifties, 23 fours, and just 7 sixes. The franchise acquired him for ₹1.5 crore in the IPL 2025 auction. Rahane has extensive experience in leading the Indian team in the past and recently captained Mumbai in the Irani Cup.
2. Quinton de Kock
The second big name is that of African wicketkeeper-opener Quinton de Kock. De Kock has captained Africa in the T20 format. If the franchise trusts him, he can fulfill this responsibility very well. He also has the experience of participating in the IPL for a long time.

3. Rinku Singh
Rinku Singh captained Meerut in the recently concluded UP T20 League 2024. The performance of the team under his leadership was also commendable. Not only this, despite having the responsibility of captaincy during the tournament, there was no effect on his performance. In such a situation, the franchise can surprise the whole world and give him a big responsibility.
Special mentions:
Rowman Powell: Powell has the experience of leading the West Indies cricket team in limited-overs formats. If the franchise hands him the captaincy, he could help make KKR a champion once again. Powell has played a total of 88 T20 matches for the West Indies so far, scoring 1,679 runs in 76 innings at an average of 25.83. With the ball, he has taken five wickets in 14 innings. Additionally, he has played 26 matches in the IPL, scoring 360 runs.
