Aditi Sharma: Apollena – Sapno Ki Unchi Udann

TV’s popular actress Aditi Sharma will soon be seen in Colors’ new show Apollena – Sapno Ki Oonchi Udaan. In this show, she plays the role of Apollena, a girl with big dreams, while Sandeep Baswana plays her father, Girdhar. The show focuses on the inspiring journey of a girl overcoming societal norms. In this exclusive interview with Mayapuri Magazine, Aditi talks about her character, the storyline, working with Colors again, and how she feels about being part of a channel known for unique content. Here’s what she had to say:

• This is your first show with Colors, although you’ve worked with them on Khatron Ke Khiladi. How does it feel to collaborate with them again?

I am very excited to be working with Colors once again. Their content is always different and of very high quality. They’re one of the best channels out there, and I’m thrilled to be a part of this journey with them.

• Since you’ve mentioned that Colors produces such unique content, what can you tell us about this show? What’s the storyline?

In this show, I play a girl who is studying in an inter-college but belongs to a family that doesn’t support education for girls. It’s an inspiring story, one that will motivate people. Unfortunately, in many parts of the country, girls are still denied an education. They’re not taught to dream, and often, they’re married off at a young age. Our story aims to inspire such girls and show them that they, too, can dream big and fly high.

• In the promo, it’s shown that your father is being called a traitor. This tag will follow you throughout the show. What would you like to say about this emotional aspect?

This show has a very emotional storyline, especially the father-daughter relationship. It beautifully showcases the deep bond they share, while also depicting the girl’s dreams and aspirations. Our writers have done an excellent job in crafting these emotional scenes. The story was penned by the talented Rajita Ji, who has written it beautifully.

• You’re once again collaborating with Four Lions Films Private Limited for this project. How does it feel to work with them again?

This is my second show with Four Lions Films. When a production house approaches you again, it means they’re happy with your work and the way you approach your craft. I’ve enjoyed working with Karishma (Producer), who is not just a great producer but also a wonderful friend. It’s always a pleasure to work with people who value your talent.

• Colors is known for offering fresh and unique shows. This one is no exception. What do you think about the special aspect of the show?

As I mentioned, Colors always brings fresh and different content, and Apollena is no exception. They constantly come up with innovative ideas, and their producers and writers are very creative. I’m really happy to be working with such a talented team.

• While Apollena is soaring high with her dreams, what about Aditi? What are your dreams and aspirations?

My journey began when I told my parents that I wanted to become an actor. I asked them for a year, and they supported me completely. Within a month, I received an acting offer, and that’s when I moved to Mumbai. Since then, I’ve been chasing my dreams, and I’m soaring high every day.

• Apollena’s character seems very different from any of your previous roles. How has it been portraying this character?

Yes, this role is very different from my previous ones. Till now, you’ve seen me in roles like a housewife, a businesswoman, and even as the daughter of a courtesan. But this character, Apollena, is very unique. She’s a girl with her own dreams and a voice of her own. This role has been truly special, and I’ve enjoyed playing it immensely.

• What would you like to say to your fans who have supported you throughout your journey?

I want to thank all my fans for the love and support they’ve given me so far. We’ve worked really hard on this show, and I hope you will all watch it. It airs every day at 6 PM on Colors.

The series Apollena – Sapno Ki Oonchi Udaan tells the story of India’s first female astronaut, Apollena, who dreams of reaching space. However, she faces the stigma of being the daughter of a “traitor” (a social outcast). Produced by Four Lions Films Private Limited and Katha Cottage Production LLP, this inspiring show will air every evening at 6:00 PM on Colors.
