ISKCON On Chinmoy Activities: The organization has strongly denied linking ISKCON’s name to the murder of lawyer Saiful Islam Alif and other controversies in Bangladesh. ISKCON Bangladesh general secretary Charu Chandra Das Brahmachari said that ISKCON has no connection with these incidents or any demonstrations related to them. He termed these allegations as false, malicious and an attempt to defame the organization.
In fact, during a press conference in Dhaka, Charu Chandra Das said that Chinmoy Krishna Das had already been expelled from the organization. He has clearly said that the organization is not responsible for his actions or statements. ISKCON Bangladesh has clarified its position through press conferences and communication with administrative officials.
Chinmoy Krishna Das case
According to the information, Chinmoy Krishna Das used to manage Sri Sri Pundarik Dham in Chittagong, Das was removed from ISKCON for violating organizational discipline. He was arrested in Dhaka on charges of treason and ordered to be detained by a Chittagong court. The allegation is that he hoisted the saffron flag over the national flag of Bangladesh during a rally under the “Sanatan Jagran Manch”, which was described as ” It was considered an insult to the sovereignty of the nation.
A case was registered against 18 people
Charu Chandra Das said that ISKCON is being wrongly linked to road accidents and murder. Some groups are demanding a ban on the organization, which ISKCON has said is wrong. ISKCON has made it clear that the leaders who have been expelled from the organization no longer represent the organization. Let us tell you that the matter came into limelight when pictures of hoisting the saffron flag over the national flag at a rally organized in Chittagong went viral. After this incident, political and social criticism increased in Bangladesh. It was described as a “seditious” act and a case was registered against 18 people, including Chinmoy Krishna Das.
