Khandva. An accident took place during the closing ceremony of the torch procession in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh. While placing the torches, some torches turned upside down and a fire broke out. More than 50 people got burnt in the accident. He has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. There were more than a thousand torches in the procession. Of these, 200 torches were lit. There were wood sawdust and camphor powder in the torch, which caused the fire to flare up even more. The torch procession was organized by Rashtra Bhakta Veer Yuva Manch.

Telangana BJP leader T Raja and West Bengal BJP spokesperson Nazia Khan had participated in the program organized against terrorism. He addressed the programme. Hindu leader Ashok Paliwal was leading the program. An accident occurred during the closing ceremony. After the accident, there was a stampede among the people present there. Many people have been injured due to running away.

The program was organized at Badabam Chowk in Khandwa on Thursday evening. Before the closing ceremony, a torch procession took place at around 11 pm. There was a program of lighting about 1000 torches. But only 200 torches could be lit. A torch procession was taken out for half an hour. During the closing ceremony, people started placing torches at Ghantaghar Chowk. Suddenly some torches turned upside down and caught fire rapidly. People got burnt due to the sudden increase in the flames. After the accident there was chaos and stampede.
