You might have heard and seen many incidents of theft and negligence, but such an incident of theft and negligence has come to light from a hospital in Odisha which is quite different from yours. Where due to the negligence of parents and relatives, a woman stole a newborn baby from the hospital itself. In fact, a newborn baby was allegedly stolen from the government VIMSAR hospital in Sambalpur district of Odisha. This child belongs to a couple from Mahasamund district of neighboring state Chhattisgarh.
According to the information, this child was born in the hospital on Monday. But just a day after birth, on Tuesday afternoon, the child was stolen. The thief committed this crime when the child’s parents handed over their child to a family member and went out for a walk.
The entire theft incident was captured in CCTV
The police investigating this theft case said that the child’s parents had gone out, leaving their child with his aunt. The child’s aunt said that she had handed the child over to a woman who was earlier sitting near their bed. After that the child was stolen. When the police checked the CCTV, the child was being carried away by an unknown woman. After which the police is searching for that woman.
Four teams formed to find the child
Regarding this theft case, Additional Superintendent of Police Haresh Chandra Pandey said, “We have formed four teams to trace the woman who stole the child. All ‘check gates’ have been informed and policemen are checking buses and trains. The police said that an unknown woman used to come to the child’s mother and inquire about her well-being. The police suspect that this woman has stolen the child.
Regarding this matter, hospital director Bhabagrahi Rath says that he is hopeful of finding the newborn baby soon. At the same time, he has also advised other patients to be careful and not to let any unknown person come near their bed.
