Cyclonic storm Fangal hits the coast of Tamil Nadu, heavy rain and strong wind continue
New Delhi, 1 December (Hindustan Reporter). Cyclonic storm Fengal, which arose over the Bay of Bengal, hit Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Due to this, heavy rains along with strong winds are continuing. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), cyclonic storm Fengal has crossed the coasts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
According to the Meteorological Department, Cyclone Fengal moved west-southwest and crossed North Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coasts between Karaikal and Mahabalipuram near Puducherry. It is moving with wind speed of 70-80 kmph gusting to 90 kmph. Due to this, heavy rains are continuing in Tamil Nadu. IMD has issued a rain alert.
Due to the impact of Cyclone Fangal, it is raining in many parts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. High waves have started rising in the sea. The Meteorological Department has appealed to people to stay in their homes. It is also leaving its impact in other coastal states.
