The Supreme Court will hear the PIL, in which the decision of the Election Commission has been challenged in which it was decided to increase the maximum number of voters at the polling station from 1,200 to 1,500.
The news is that… This petition has been filed on behalf of Indu Prakash Singh, which will be heard by the bench of Justice Sanjeev Khanna and Justice Sanjay Kumar.
If reports are to be believed… Indu Prakash had challenged two orders issued by the Election Commission in August 2024, in which the number of voters at the polling station of each constituency was increased.
In this petition it was said that the decision to increase the number of voters at the polling station is arbitrary and is not based on factual data.
In this case, the Supreme Court had refused to issue any notice to the Election Commission on October 24, but had directed the petitioner to send a copy of the petition to the Election Commission’s advocate, so that the Commission’s stand in this matter could be clear.
If we believe the news… The petitioner’s advocate said on this issue that – increasing the number of voters at polling stations from 1,200 to 1,500 may exclude people from the poor section of the election process, because it will take more time to vote, long lines and long wait at polling stations. Will influence the enthusiasm of voters!
