Varanasi: Fire broke out in the parking lot of Cantt Railway Station, hundreds of two-wheelers burnt to ashes.
Varanasi. More than 300 bikes parked in the parking area of Cantt Railway Station have been burnt to ashes. Six days ago, a bike suddenly caught fire in the parking area of Cantt Railway Station. People had blamed the incident of oil theft for this, but the railway administration ignored it and this ignorance proved so costly that after midnight of Friday-Saturday, hundreds of bikes parked in the parking area were burnt to ashes.
A case of fire has come to light from Varanasi Cantt Railway Station, in which more than 300 bikes have been burnt to ashes. The flames were so huge that no one had the courage to go amidst the fire. Somehow GRP and RPF personnel entered the parking lot and somehow took more than 30 vehicles parked in one lane to a safe place. The in-charge of GRP and RPF and his team made tireless efforts to save other vehicles, but many bikes were burnt.
Immediately after the incident, Cantt Station Director also reached the spot. Due to lack of fire prevention arrangements at Cantt Railway Station, an attempt was made to control the fire by filling buckets with water, but was not successful. The fire kept on increasing and even the fire fighting systems did not work. It also took time to bring fire fighting systems from different parts of Cantt station. Even before this the fire had taken a huge form.
