Uttar Pradesh: Congress President sat on strike when police stopped him from going to Sambhal

The Congress delegation had announced to visit Sambhal today to get information about the incident that took place in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. But now their departure has been banned. State President Ajay Rai was put under house arrest at Lucknow Congress headquarters. Heavy police force has been deployed outside the headquarters. Ajay Rai is trying to maintain his composure. Due to which he has sat on strike. The workers are creating ruckus by raising slogans against the police and administration.
The Congress delegation was going to be organized today. Under the leadership of UP State Congress President Ajay Rai, the Congress leader has announced his departure. Dozens of Congress leaders have arrived there along with the Congress President. All these leaders had stayed at the headquarters throughout the night and were going to be careful today. But the police stopped him at the gate of the party office itself. After which the Congress President and party leaders were adamant on being careful and sat on strike.
Congress President Ajay Rai and party leaders and workers are loudly raising slogans against the police and administration. Police and PAC personnel are trying to forcibly take them away. The workers are creating ruckus while shouting slogans. The police had reached outside the office in large numbers in the morning itself. The routes leading to the office have been blocked.
After the violence in Sambhal on November 24, to maintain peace here, the administration has banned the entry of outsiders till December 10. The district administration has also extended the period of prohibitory order under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Defense Code from December 1 to December 31. District Magistrate Rajendra Pesiya had said that “No outsider, other social organization or public representative will enter the district limits till December 10 without the permission of the competent officer.” The District Magistrate also said, “If any person tries to spread rumors in any group on social media, the ‘Group Admin’ will remove the said post and immediately inform the police.
