According to the Puranas, it is believed that Patal Bhuvaneshwar Shiva Temple is the only such temple. From where all the four Dhams can be seen. Inside the Patal Bhuvaneshwar cave, one can see the supernatural statues of Kedarnath, Badrinath, Mata Bhuvaneshwari, Adi Ganesh, Lord Shiva’s matted hair, seven ponds, Mukti Dwar, Dharmadwar, and other gods and goddesses.
1. Adi Shankaracharya discovered the temple
According to the Puranas, it is believed that 33 crore gods and goddesses reside inside the Patal Bhuvaneshwar temple. Talking about the discovery of this Bhuvaneshwar temple, according to the Puranas, it was discovered by King Rituparna of the Surya dynasty in Tretayuga. Who ruled Ayodhya state at that time. The discoveries made by him have been mentioned in Manas Khand and Skanda Purana.
After this, in Dwapar era, Pandavas discovered Bhuvaneshwar temple. Inside this temple, Pandavas played Chaupar with Lord Shiva. After this, Jagatguru Shankaracharya discovered this Bhuvaneshwari cave in around 819 AD. It was he who gave information about the cave to the king of that state. Only after this, the priest and Bhandari family were brought to the temple by the kings. From then onwards the worship of Lord Bhuvaneshwar was started.
2. The severed head of Lord Ganesha is present in the temple.
According to Hindu scriptures, it is believed that when Lord Shiva was prevented from entering the cave by Lord Ganesha, the son of Mother Parvati. So Lord Shiva got angry and severed his head with his trident. Later, at the request of Mother Parvati, Ganesha was given the head of an elephant. The same head which Lord Shiva had separated. It is believed that even today that head is present inside the Patal Bhuvaneshwar cave. In this cave, there is a rock in the form of Brahmakamal with 108 petals just above the cut stone idol of Lord Ganesha.
3. There are four gates present in Patal Bhuvaneshwar temple.
According to mythology, there are four gates present inside the Patal Bhuvaneshwar temple. Whose names are Ran Dwar, Paap Dwar, Moksh Dwar and Dharma Dwar respectively. It is believed that, when King Ravana of Lanka died, the door of sin was closed. Along with this, Randwara was also closed after the Mahabharata war. Now only two doors are open, the door of salvation and the door of religion.

It is said that, there are four pillars here which are named according to the eras i.e. Satyayuga, Tretayuga, Dwapar Yuga and Kaliyuga. Those who go there and see it believe that there is no change of any kind in any of the pillars except the Kalyug pillar. The pillar of Kaliyuga is bigger in size than all the three pillars. Along with this, the size of the Shivalinga present in the temple is also increasing rapidly. It is being said that the day the Shivling touches the roof of the temple, the world will end.
