Abhishek Bachchan Reflects on Abhimaan & Jaya’s Chemistry

This week on Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, hosted by the legendary Amitabh Bachchan on Sony Entertainment Television, contestant Virendra Sharma, an HR professional from Jaipur, makes it to the hotseat. WhenMr. Bachchan asks him, “What do you think about us? Should I prepare a CV for myself?”, Virendra humorously replies, “Aapka CV itna lamba banega, usmein koi kami nahi hogi.” Chuckling, Mr. Bachchan says, “In my CV, one thing will surely be there, ‘kaam de do, bhaiya,!’” Their light-hearted exchange sets the tone for a deeper conversation about Virendra’s career aspirations, success, and perseverance.

During the gameplay, Virendra shares his admiration for Amitabh Bachchan’s iconic film Abhimaan, expressing how much he loves its music and he asks Mr. Bachchan about his experience working alongside Jaya Bachchan. With a nostalgic smile, Mr. Bachchan fondly recalls the story behind the film, sharing, “The music was really good, and it was a chance to work with Hrishikesh Mukherjee. I wasn’t married at the time to Jaya, and the story was beautiful, as was the music. Sometimes, the music director and I would sit together, listen to the songs, and based on the situation, create new compositions. The whole vibe was different. Lata Ji would always ask, ‘Is this song ready, and who is going to sing it?’ She would sing in a way that perfectly reflected the emotion of the moment and the singer. That quality of hers was very beautiful.”
