-Market cap of group companies combined reduced by Rs 2.45 lakh crore
New Delhi, 21 November (HS). Adani Group has categorically rejected the allegations made by the US Department of Justice and the US Securities and Exchange Commission against the directors of Adani Green. The company termed all the allegations as baseless and said that the group has been in compliance with all laws.
Adani Group spokesperson, in a statement issued on Thursday, termed the allegations of bribery made by American officials as baseless. The statement said that all the allegations are beyond facts and baseless. Adani Group spokesperson said that the group is fully complying with all the laws. Adani Group said, the US Justice Department itself has said that the indictment contains charges and the defendants are considered innocent until proven guilty. Every possible legal recourse will be taken in the matter.
It is noteworthy that industrialist Gautam Adani’s Adani Group company has been accused by US prosecutors of paying bribes of $ 250 million to Indian officials in exchange for favorable terms to win solar power contracts in India. Shares of Adani Group companies have fallen heavily during trading today, reducing the combined market valuation of its listed companies by Rs 2.45 lakh crore.
