Sanjay manjrekar on ravindra jadeja: In the first Test played at the headingley ground in Leeds, Team India lost by 5 wickets to England. The defeat was received when the Indian team scored a total of five centuries throughout the Test. But the bowling department proved to be a complete failure. After this defeat, former cricketer and commentator Sanjay Manjrekar has spoken openly on the mistakes made during the match. In this connection, he has raised a big question on the performance of star all -rounder Ravindra Jadeja.

Sanjay Manjrekar questioned Ravindra Jadeja as he did not show any wonders with the bat or ball as an all -rounder. In the first innings, Jadeja was dismissed for just 11 runs and he could not take any wicket. In the second innings, he scored just 25 runs and was able to take only one wicket.

Manjrekar’s sharp criticism on Jadeja

Sanjay Manjrekar clearly said that Ravindra Jadeja should come forward and perform as an experienced player. He expressed concern that Jadeja’s batting ability is no longer the same as it was 3-4 years ago.

Talking to ESPN Cricinfo, Sanjay Manjrekar said, “India chose Jadeja in place of Ashwin or Kuldeep because he can contribute with the ball as well as the bat. But now his batting is not the same as before. The Jadeja, who was three-four years ago, is no longer visible.”

Significantly, Ravindra Jadeja has bowled a total of 110 overs in the last four Tests and has taken only five wickets. At the same time, his batting average in 2023 was 35.13 and 29.28 in 2024, which reflects his falling graph.

Sanjay Manjrekar also added that Jadeja could not leave a special effect on the fifth day pitch, where there was a lot of help for the spinners. Manjrekar said, “Such situations were like a house, and still got only one wicket. Yes, there were some opportunities that Rishabh Pant could catch, but expects more than an experienced player.”
