Animal created the most conversation on misogyny: Anurag
Now filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has also shared his opinion on this film. He said that some people are learning feminism from Ranbir's film.
Speaking at the Kolkata International Film Festival, Anurag said, 'How many people have seen the film which you consider feminist? Only a select few people in the country watch such films and only after watching them they decide whether it is a real feminist film or a pseudo-feminist one.
A film like 'Animal' has excited feminists more than any other feminist film in this country. It has created more conversations on misogyny than any other film. So it clearly means that this film is doing something good.
In the country, this film did a record business of Rs 87 crore in its second weekend.
People are learning feminism because of 'Animal'
Anurag further said that sometimes provocation is needed to convey something to the people. Because of the ongoing discussion on this film of Ranbir, many people are learning feminism.
As a filmmaker, I always try to make films that make people uncomfortable.
Anurag and Ranbir have worked together on the film Bombay Velvet. Anushka Sharma was opposite Ranbir in this. The film was produced by Karan Johar.
Expressed desire to work with Ranbir
During this, when Anurag was asked whether he would like to work with Ranbir again? In response to this the filmmaker said, 'Ranbir is an expert in his art. Who wouldn't want to work with him? All the makers of the industry want to work with such stars who have more fans.
You can see how much his work in Animal is being appreciated. I want to do it with them, but I don't have a formula for making a blockbuster. Anurag and Ranbir have previously worked together on 'Bombay Velvet'. This film flopped badly.
Vicky Kaushal has played the lead role in the film Sam Bahadur.
Anurag also spoke about Sam Bahadur
Regarding the film 'Sam Bahadur' released with Animal, Anurag said – 'Sam Manekshaw's language has been translated and used in the film, whereas in reality he spoke British English. This is the reason why many people rejected this film as inauthentic. People who don't know about it have accepted it.
