Are Chinese President Xi Jinping preparing for retirement?
Xi Jinping
Beijing: Chinese President Xi Jinping has been retaining his power in China for more than 12 years. But now the kind of development is coming out, there are some different signs. At first there were reports of his disappearance. Now for the first time in his reign, they are starting to assign rights to the major organizations of the ruling Communist Party. Xi’s move is speculating that they are preparing the basis for systematic power transfer or reducing their role under the preparation of possible retirement.
Review of new rules regarding low
Speculation about Xi’s transfer of power intensified when the government news agency ‘Xinhua’ recently reported that the powerful 24-member political bureau of the ruling Communist Party of China (CPC) reviewed the new rules regarding the work of the party’s institutions in their meeting on 30 June. In the meeting chaired by Xi, it was emphasized that these rules will further accept the establishment, responsibilities and operations of the CPC Central Committee’s decision-making, consultant and coordinating institutions.
The news of Xinhua states that such institutions should make more effective experiments regarding leadership and coordination in relation to their major functions and focus on planning, discussing and maintaining major tasks. A political analyst living in China on condition of not making the name public said that the rules set for these bodies of the party may be a sign of preparation for retirement of Xi.
Some powers can hand over to others
Hong Kong’s news paper ‘South China Morning Post’ quoted an analyst on Sunday, “This is an important time for change of power, so maybe these new rules have been made to regulate the bodies.” However, other experts say that Xi, who is considered the most powerful leader after CPC founder Maotse Tung, herself can hand over some powers to others to focus on some big issues.
BRICS did not participate in the summit
Chinese aristocratic politics and finance expert Victor Shih said Victor Shih said, “It seems that Xi Jinping probably pay less attention to day-to-day details, which requires a monitoring mechanism.” Xi did not attend the BRICS summit to be held at Rio de Janeiro from Sunday. This is the first time he will not attend the summit of emerging economies. The Chinese delegation is headed by Prime Minister Lee Kiang at the summit.
Taking steps in the midst of tariff war with America
Xi has taken the move to hand over power when US President Donald Trump has started a tariff war, China’s export of $ 440 billion to the US is being interrupted. Apart from this, the Chinese economy is also facing many challenges. Development is declining due to continuous lethargy in the economy. Apart from this, the main basis of economic development is weakening the housing market.
How was the term of Xi Jinping till now?
She has rapidly strengthened its hold on the powerful army as the chairman of the CPC in 2012 as the CPC General Secretary, i.e. party, presidential commission and chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC). Earlier Xi was the Vice President. Strengthening his hold on power, he launched China’s biggest anti -corruption campaign in which more than one million officials were punished and dozens of top generals were removed from the posts. During this time, Xi was declared the “chief leader” of the party, whereas earlier the post was given only to the party’s founder Maotse Tung. Later, the major rule of two-five-year term of a President of a President was amended by the legislature, which paved the way for the party’s general secretary in 2022 and the next year as President of the country to be selected for his unprecedented third five-year tenure. She retired after a tenure of Xi’s two -five years, while he remained in power without any tenure and got the title of the President for a lifetime. Analysts say their third term will end by the next Five Year Congress of CPC to remain in power or participate in power in 2027, by the time their third term will end. (input language)
