India vs england 2nd Test: England wicketkeeper batsman Jamie Smith made a special record with his brilliant batting in the second Test match at Edgbaston Stadium against India. Smith scored 88 runs in 99 balls in the second innings, with nine fours and four sixes.

Earlier, Smith scored an unbeaten 184 in 207 balls in the first innings. He scored 272 runs, including both innings of the match. With this, as a wicketkeeper batsman, he has become the highest run -scorer for England in one Test. He overtook Alec Stewart in this list, scoring 204 runs in a Test match against South Africa in 1998.

Apart from this, he has become the third wicket -keeper batsman of England in the history of 148 years, who has scored a century in one innings and a half -century in the second innings. Earlier, Elon Not and Matt Prayer did this.

As a wicketkeeper, he has come at number three in terms of scoring the most runs in one Test. Zimbabwe’s Andy Flower scored 341 runs against South Africa in 2001 and 287 runs in a Test against India in 2000.

Significantly, in this match, India defeated England by a huge margin of 336 runs in the second Test and equaled the five-match series 1-1. The England team came out for 271 runs in the second innings, chasing a huge target of 608 runs.
