Dhamtari. The cleanliness campaign in Dhamtari Municipal Corporation is in bad condition. There are heaps of garbage everywhere in the wards and the drains are filled with garbage including plastic disposals and bottles. The corporation is being exposed regarding the cleanliness campaign. People have demanded improvement in the system. Continuous action is being taken by the corporation regarding the sale of plastic disposal. Even after this, plastic disposables are being sold, due to which the drains are clogged. Garbage is spread from the streets of the city to the roadside. Garbage is accumulated in the city’s new bus stand and the streets of the ward. The drain is clogged with garbage. Dirty water and accumulated filth are emitting foul smell, which is becoming a problem for the passengers and bus stand businessmen. Passengers said that filth is spread everywhere in the bus stand. There is no cleanliness even in the passenger waiting room. Due to which there is no place to rest while waiting for the bus.
Hotelier Laxman Lal Sahu said that passengers come to the bus stand from many places. The Municipal Corporation is not paying any attention to the cleanliness of the bus stand. The drain is blocked since one month. All businessmen including passengers are troubled by its unbearable smell. Two cleaning staff should be deployed on daily duty so that the bus stand looks neat and clean. In this regard, Corporation Commissioner Priya Goyal said that efforts are on to improve the cleanliness system in the Municipal Corporation. The system will improve within a few days.
