Bank holiday in these states today

According to the list of holidays of the Reserve Bank, banks are going to remain closed in many states on April 17 on the occasion of Ram Navami. Due to this festival celebrated on the birth of Lord Ram, the states where banks are closed on Wednesday include Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Chandigarh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Himachal Pradesh is included.

First phase of voting this week

After today this week, banks are going to remain closed in many places on 19th April also. The reason for the second bank holiday this week is the voting for the first phase of Lok Sabha 2024. Lok Sabha elections 2024 are starting with the first phase of voting on 19 April. Along with the first phase of Lok Sabha, voting for assembly elections is also going to be held in some states on April 19.

Banks closed at these places on 19th April

Due to Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, bank branches will remain locked at many places on Friday, April 19. Voting will be held for Arunachal Pradesh Assembly Elections 2024 on that day. In such a situation, banks will remain closed in the state. Voting is also going to be held for the by-election of Vilavancode assembly constituency located in Kanyakumari district in Tamil Nadu. The places where banks are going to remain closed on April 19 include Chennai, Dehradun, Itanagar, Jaipur, Kohima, Nagpur and Shillong.

These states announced holidays

Due to elections, state government employees are also going to get holidays in many states. Uttarakhand government has declared holiday on 19th April due to elections. The government of Nagaland has announced paid leave for employees of all government, private and commercial establishments. The government of Tamil Nadu has also declared a public holiday on 19 April.
