Bareilly woman murdered on suspicion of inciting sister to commit suicide
Uttar Pradesh News Desk: Police arrested two accused of murdering Rupwati near the wedding procession on Sanjay Nagar Road. The bike, pistol and mobile used in the murder were recovered from them and the incident was revealed. According to the police, the sister of the main accused Sarthak had committed suicide. He suspected that Roopvati had a hand in it. Due to this, he along with two friends conspired to commit murder. The third murderer is still absconding.
Rupwati was shot dead at 16. Police have arrested Sarthak, resident of Sanjay Nagar and Sagar, resident of Siklapur, in the murder case. The third accused, Nikhil Chandra, who is a resident of Math Chowki, is absconding. According to Baradari police, the arrested accused Sarthak gave shocking information about the murder. He told the police that the deceased Roopvati lived in his own street in Sanjay Nagar and there was a dispute with her family. She threatened to kill his family members. On April 2024, his 17 year old sister Pallavi was found hanging in the room of the house. From that very day, it became ingrained in Sarthak’s mind that it was Roopwati who had murdered his sister. Meanwhile, when he met a Tantrik named Jagdish, resident of Nai Basti Madhobari, he told about the involvement of a woman in his sister’s death. After this, Sarthak contacted his associates Sagar and Nikhil Chandra and arranged for weapons and cartridges. After this all three prepared a plan to kill Rupwati.
Both were given Rs 20,000 each to commit the murder.
Rupwati Kunwar used to set up a non-veg stall near the banquet hall. Sarthak was there on 16th. Nikhil was sitting on the bike behind Sagar. Both of them wore helmets to hide their identities. Sarthak had identified Roopvati from a distance. Nikhil shot him and ran away towards the cremation ground intersection. After some time, Sarthak also left from there following him. The weapon and bike were with Nikhil who had fled. On completion of the work, Sarthak had decided to give Rs 20,000 each to both of them.
