Basti: 11 thousand consumers were affected for 12 hours, there was a fault in the 33 KV line coming from Harraiya to sub-centre Babhnan.
Uttar Pradesh News Desk: Electricity to the homes of about 11 thousand consumers connected to Babhnan power sub-station is out for more than 12 hours. The power supply from the 33 KV line coming from the transmission sub-centre at Harraiya to the power sub-centre Babhnan suddenly stopped at around 9:30 pm. Electrical workers told that the line broke when a branch of a mango tree fell on the 33 KV line at Parsa Tiraha. Ram Prakash, Junior Engineer of the sub-centre, said that the team has been deployed since morning to restore power supply. Electricity supply will be restored soon.
Babhnan Town, Pakolia, Gaur and Shringinari feeders emerge from Babhnan power sub-station. Through these feeders, electricity is supplied to the homes of about 8000 consumers in nearby towns and hundreds of villages. The entire area was plunged into darkness after the Harraiya-Babhnan 33 KV line tripped. Officials were informed about the interruption of power supply to the sub-station. A team of two junior engineers and 10 employees was prepared to connect the wire. At around six in the morning, Junior Engineer Ramprakash and Shringinari Junior Engineer Virendra Singh reached Parsa Tirahe with their team. The branch that had fallen on the wire was first cut and removed, after which the 33 KV line wire was connected. The supply to the sub-station was restored after 10 am.
Supply halted after panel cable blast
After the cable blast of the panel in 33/11 KV power sub-station Gidhi in the morning, the power supply to Manhandih, Nai Basti, Belwadadi and other localities connected to that center was disrupted for about two hours. SDO Pankaj Kumar said that the fault has been rectified and the supply has been restored. There was a sudden blast in the panel cable of the sub-station at seven in the morning. After this, the electricity supply to hundreds of houses connected to it was disrupted. People going to schools and shops faced problems due to power failure during peak hours.
There was blackout in 2500 houses of Babhnan town.
Due to the fall of a tree branch on the 33 KV line, there was a blackout in about two and a half thousand houses of Babhnan town the whole night. There was darkness throughout the night in 450 villages surrounding the town. Life returned to normal after power supply was restored after 12 hours. Suddenly at nine o’clock in the night the electricity in Babhnan town went off. The entire town was plunged into darkness. After waiting for some time, when people started reaching the power sub-station Babhnan, the employees present there told that the line has tripped due to a branch falling on the Harraiya-Babhnan 33 KV line. The supply will be restored after the branch is removed in the morning. Electricity did not come even in the morning, due to which the inverters installed in the houses failed and people’s mobile phones started responding. Due to lack of water in homes, job professionals, school children and shopkeepers had to face a lot of trouble in the morning. Wedding ceremonies were also disrupted due to lack of electricity throughout the night. Marriage functions were conducted throughout the night with the help of generators.
