Microsoft, one of the world’s big and old tech companies, has stopped its business in Pakistan. The company, which started about 25 years ago, has now covered its boria-bed from Pakistan. Bill Gates’s company has contributed to Pakistan’s economic growth. Pakistan will become more pauper after the company’s business is closed. Business covered after 25 years
According to the report, Microsoft launched its operation in Pakistan on 7 March 2000. On 3 July 2025 i.e. Thursday, the company has officially announced to close its business in Pakistan. Although Microsoft has not given the official reason for closing its operation in Pakistan, the industry -associated experts believe that Pakistan is a economic instability country to Tech company and trade conditions are very bad here.
Economic and political instability became reason
Due to the instability in Pakistan’s currency, more tax, the problem of the supply chain of tech hardware and the repeated change of the government, the Tech company has decided to close its business from here. Apart from this, there is a shortage of local talent in Pakistan, due to which the company was having difficulty in operating there. The lack of politically and economically forced Microsoft to cover his business from Pakistan.
There is also a reason for deteriorating relations with India
Apart from all this, the company was suffering further losses due to the current trade tension between India and Pakistan. The two countries used to trade US $ 3 billion in 2018, but in 2024 it has come down to just $ 1.2 billion. It is expected to decrease further in 2025. After the Pahalgam terror attack, the environment of investment in Pakistan has become worse due to the tension arising between these two countries.
Although Microsoft was about to increase its business in Pakistan in 2022, the company decided to increase its business in Vietnam in view of the current political and economic situation there. Apart from all this, in the last two years, Microsoft has closed many of its support programs in Pakistan. Also, any new partnership has been banned.
