Rishi Kapoor was born on 4 September 1952 in Mumbai. His father's name was Raj Kapoor and mother's name was Krishna Kapoor. Rishi Kapoor belonged to the Punjabi Hindu Khatri family. His early education was from a boarding school in Dehradun. He did his graduation from Mayo College, Ajmer.

After this, Rishi Kapoor released the film Mera Naam Joker in 1970, in which he was 14 years old.

Rishi Kapoor passes away

In 2018, Rishi Kapoor was diagnosed with leukemia i.e. blood cancer. He underwent treatment for about a year in New York. Rishi came to India on 26 September 2019. Rishi remained fine for some time but on April 29, due to ill health, Rishi was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai. The news of his death came on the morning of 30 April 2020.
