New Delhi: Kenneth Felix Haczynski da Nobrega, Brazil’s Ambassador to India, has hailed India’s leadership of the G-20, especially the inclusion of the African Union as a member under India’s presidency, calling it one of the “top three incredible results” of India’s stewardship. He emphasized that the decision to integrate 55 African nations into the global group significantly enhances its legitimacy and credibility on the world stage.

Highlighting the importance of the African Union’s addition, Ambassador Haczynski noted that the inclusion is a game-changer for global diplomacy and reflects India’s commitment to broadening the group’s inclusiveness. He further praised Brazil’s own involvement in the G-20 summit, stating that the country has invited key African nations like Angola, Nigeria, and Egypt to the summit, further amplifying Africa’s presence and voice in global discussions.

On the broader outcomes of the summit, the Ambassador discussed the notable progress made during India’s G-20 presidency, which has seen the successful negotiation of 12 ministerial declarations. One of the most significant developments is the effort to connect the Sherpa track (political and diplomatic) and the financial track (economic and developmental), which, according to Haczynski, has resulted in the establishment of two task forces. These task forces aim to ensure that political decisions made during the G-20 summit translate into concrete, implementable actions on the ground.

The Ambassador’s comments underscore the ongoing transformation of the G-20 under India’s presidency, highlighting not just diplomatic successes but also the tangible impact these reforms are poised to have globally. By strengthening the links between policy decisions and their real-world implementation, India has laid a foundation for the G-20 to deliver meaningful, sustainable results for a broader range of nations.
