BSF jawan martyred in Pakistani firing in Ramgarh sector of Jammu and Kashmir (Lead-1)

Jammu, November 9 (IANS). A Border Security Force (BSF) soldier was martyred in unprovoked firing by Pakistani Rangers on Thursday along the International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir.

Officials said that around 12:20 am on Wednesday-Thursday, Pakistan Rangers opened fire without any provocation at BSF’s Narayanpur post in Ramgarh sector of Samba district.

Officials said, “BSF troops retaliated. Firing continued between the two sides for a long time.

“Lal Fern Kima, a head constable of BSF, was injured in Pakistani firing. He was immediately shifted to a community hospital in Ramgarh. The injured soldier was referred to the Government Medical College (GMC) hospital in Jammu city for specialized treatment.

“The seriously injured jawan died on the way to GMC hospital.”

This is the third ceasefire violation by Pakistan Rangers along the International Border in the last 10 days.
