Govind Arun Ahuja, popularly known by his stage name Govinda, was accidentally shot in the leg when the trigger of his licensed revolver was unintentionally pulled. He has now been discharged from the hospital.

New Delhi: In a sigh of relief for fans, actor-politician Govinda on Tuesday (October 1, 2024) issued an audio message to confirm that the bullet has been removed from his body after the unfortunate misfire incident. The voice clip was circulated by Shiv Sena member Krishna Hegde.

“With the blessings of you all, my parents and the grace of God, the bullet that I was shot with has been removed,” the Hero No 1 hunk said. He also thanked the medical staff for taking good care of him, especially Dr Agarwal. He extended his gratitude to fans as well for their best wishes.

As the 60-year-old star was about to leave for the airport, he sustained leg injuries after his revolver accidentally went off at his Mumbai residence. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Govinda’s condition is now stable

Govinda is now out of danger and recuperating at his home. His manager Shashi Sinha told news agency PTI that the shocking accident happened when Govinda was about to leave his home at 4.45 am. He was scheduled to head to the airport to catch a 6 am flight to Kolkata for a show.

This is when the trigger of his licensed revolver was accidentally pushed while he was keeping it in the cupboard. As a result, the misfired bullet hit his leg. Govinda received medical treatment from the nearby Criti Care Hospital for treatment. It is to be noted that no complaint has been lodged in the matter so far. However, have begun an investigation into the incident.
