A memorandum has been submitted to Collector Namrata Gandhi demanding immediate action. Congressmen have warned the government and administration to protest if their demands are not met.
District Congress Committee President Sharad Lohana, Dhamtari MLA Omkar Sahu, former Congress District President Mohan Lalwani, Block City President Akash Golchha, Yogash Sharma and other Congressmen reached the Collectorate office and submitted a memorandum to Collector Namrata Gandhi alleging that there is shortage of sand in the district. Illegal mining continues in full swing. The fact that action is not being taken against the sand mafia has boosted their morale. Illegal plating is being done at many places in Dhamtari city, but the district administration is not taking action, which is a matter of concern. Congressmen have demanded immediate action from the Collector. Congressmen have also alleged that incidents of stabbing, robbery and assault are increasing in the district. Goons and miscreants are carrying out the incidents without any fear. Illegal sale of liquor along with banned drugs is taking place in the streets of villages and cities, but the police is sitting idly by. The district police has failed to stop crime.
Congressmen have said that there are many technical problems in the Token Tuhar Haath app, due to which farmers are facing a lot of problems in selling paddy. This is the reason why online tokens are not being deducted for purchasing paddy, due to which the farmers are upset. There has been a demand to provide offline facility to the farmers for tokens, so that no farmer is deprived of selling paddy at the support price. Congressmen have demanded from the government and administration that farmers should be allowed to plant paddy in the Rabi season. The main income of the district is paddy, on which other industries depend. In the name of crop cycle, paddy crop is being banned in Rabi season. There are other misconceptions prevalent including fine of Rs 5,000, power cut to motor pump, this should be removed. At the same time, there are difficulties in selling pulses and oilseeds produced by farmers. There is a lack of market, hence there is a demand to abolish the requirement of pulses and oilseeds production in Rabi and to provide freedom to the farmers to do farming as per their choice.
