Constitution belongs to every Indian: Governor Bandaru Dattatreya
New Delhi, November 26 (IANS). Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya addressed the Constitution Day celebrations organized on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Constitution. He said that the Constitution belongs to every Indian.
Governor Bandaru Dattatreya also visited India’s first museum dedicated to the Constitution of India and the historical journey of the Academy of Rights and Freedoms.
Speaking on the occasion, Bandaru Dattatreya said, “I am pleased and honored to be present at this historic event on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Indian Constitution. I congratulate OP Jindal Global University. Jindal Global University has established the Constitution Museum. And made unique efforts to establish Rights and Freedom Academy. This museum will not only help in making students aware about the Constitution, but it will also inform the public. Such a Constitution Museum should be constructed in the state.”
He further said, “Today is also an opportunity to remember the visionary members of the first Constituent Assembly. Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar created and drafted the great Constitution, which made India the largest republic in the world. The Constitution deserves intensive study, research. It was written after much deliberation, a real challenge in a country as diverse as India. Today it represents the aspirations and values of the world’s largest democracy. The Constitution as a foundation protects the fundamental rights of its citizens on the basis of equality, liberty and fraternity. It is the responsibility of our youth to maintain the sanctity of the Constitution.”
Referring to the Constitution, Governor Bandaru Dattatreya further said, “The Indian Constitution is a historic document, which defines the framework by which the Republic of India is governed. The Constitution, adopted on 26 January 1949, represents the collective consciousness of a new nation The Constitution outlines the fundamental laws that embody the values, principles and governance structure of our country. It serves as the supreme principles that guide the functioning of the state. and thus ensuring the rights and responsibilities of every citizen. Based on historical struggles, philosophical ideals and social aspirations, it reflects the nation’s collective journey towards democracy, justice and equality.”
Meanwhile, JGU Vice-Chancellor Professor C Raj Kumar said, “The founder Vice-Chancellor of OP Jindal Global University, Naveen Jindal, has aspired to bring comprehensive knowledge, learning and awareness about the Indian Constitution, which has inspired him to establish the Constitution Museum and Rights and Freedoms. Created the Academy. The aim of this museum is to encourage the youth in India who will go on the journey of future leadership.”
He further said, “The Constitution of India is a beacon of knowledge and an established passage that governs our country. We need to democratize access to information about the Constitution for the youth of India. We need to ensure that There is a need that every citizen of India should have knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the Indian Constitution.”
