Crackdown on Christmas celebrations in Kathmandu schools
Kathmandu, 22 December (HS). In Nepal's capital Kathmandu, the Municipal Corporation has tightened the noose on the events held in schools on Christmas. The Municipal Corporation has issued a warning. Under this, schools cannot force students to come dressed as Santa Claus. Nor can parents force them to buy this kind of dress.
Kathmandu Municipal Corporation has banned such activities of schools. The Municipal Corporation has warned that if any school asks children to wear a particular dress on Christmas or asks parents to buy such a dress, then legal action will be taken.
The Municipal Corporation has made it clear that in the name of Christmas, no event of any kind should be organized in the school premises by making children wear fake white beards and red caps or in red clothes. Instructing students to wear any type of dress other than the prescribed dress in school will be a punishable offence. In this regard, a team has also been formed under the leadership of Sitaram Koirala, head of the metropolitan education department. This team will conduct surprise inspection of all the schools.
