Delhi CM’s bungalow will be renovated: 24 AC, 5 smart TVs will be installed
Repair and decoration work will soon start in Delhi Chief Minister’s Rekha Gupta’s new government bungalow (Bungalow No. 1, Raj Niwas Road).
This bungalow was first being used as the office of the Lieutenant Governor Secretariat. Now it will be made fit for the Chief Minister and his family.
The bungalow will have 24 air conditioners, 5 smart TVs (four 55 inches and one 65 in), 3 big chandeliers, more than 80 wings. The kitchen will facilitate new machines such as gas hob, electric chimney, microwave, toast grill, washing machine, dishwasher, 50 liters of RO water plant.
The total budget of the first phase of renovation is 60 lakh rupees. Air conditioning alone will cost more than Rs 11 lakh and a budget of Rs 6 lakh has been kept on lights, chandelis.
Bungalow number 1 is a type VII housing, including 4 bedrooms, drawing rooms, visitors halls, servants room, kitchen, lawn and backyard.
Last year, there was a dispute over the renovation of the government bungalow of former CM Arvind Kejriwal. The BJP then described the bungalow as Kejriwal’s Sheeshamahal.
The second bungalow will be a camp office
According to PWD, Bungalow No. 2 will be made the Chief Minister’s camp office, where the general public will be met. A way will also be made to connect both bungalows. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is currently living in her private house in Shalimar Bagh.
Rekha Gupta described the old bungalow as a symbol of corruption
CM Rekha Gupta had made it clear before the election that she would not take the residence of former Chief Minister Kejriwal (6 Flagstaff Road). He called it a symbol of corruption. About 33.66 crore rupees were spent on that bungalow, which the BJP called Sheesh Mahal.
