About Delhi-Dehradun Expressway
The Delhi-Dehradun Expressway (NH 72A) is an under-development project by NHAI, whose establishment stone was laid in 2021. It will connect Delhi and Dehradun on a 210-kilometre expressway with six to 12 access-controlled lanes. The project is being worked on at an expense of around Rs 13,000 crore, which will diminish distance and time. It will travel through Baghpat, Baraut, Shamli, Saharanpur, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
It will have two spurs, or link roads, to guarantee a network with urban communities close to its route: the Saharanpur–Roorkee–Haridwar Expressway, which is 50.7 kilometres long, and the Ambala–Shamli Expressway, which is 121 kilometres long and has six lanes. As per several reports, the Delhi-Dehradun e-way will decrease the distance between the two urban communities to 210km, completed in 2.5-3 hours.
