The film Shakti, released in the year 1982, is included in the best classic films of the Hindi film industry. In this film, Dilip Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan worked together for the first time and thrilled the audience. Amitabh Bachchan could have difficulty working in front of any artist, but Amitabh Bachchan also faced many problems in working with Dilip Kumar in the film Shakti.

Recalling a scene of the film Shakti, Amitabh Bachchan had said that when Dilip Kumar keeps following him in the film’s climax, he has to look back, when he does so, he does not see Dilip Kumar’s eyes and there are many retakes of this scene. Dilip Kumar is recorded in the name of Dilip Kumar to receive the most film fair award as the best actor in the Hindi film industry. Dilip Kumar was awarded the Filmfare Award eight times in his cine career.

In view of the important contribution of Dilip Kumar in the film world, he was awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest honor of the film industry in the year 1994. Apart from this, the Government of Pakistan honored him with the highest honor Nishan-e-Imtiaz. In the year 1980, Dilip Kumar was appointed as Sheriff in Mumbai.

In the film industry, Dilip Kumar was among the few few actor who believed his quality more than the number of films, so he acted in about 60 films in his six decades of cine career. On 7 July 2021, Dilip Kumar said goodbye to this world.
