Who are service voters?
If you are in Assam Rifles, CRPF, BSF, ITBP, Border Roads Organisation, GREF or Central Industrial Security Force then you will be called a service voter. Apart from this, if you are working outside India, under the Government of India, then you can cast your vote as a service voter. Also, this facility is also given to the members of the armed police force of any state who are serving outside that state.

How do service voters cast their vote?
A service voter gets this facility that he can vote at his native place from where he is posted. That means if someone is posted in Ladakh then he can vote in his village in Uttarakhand. For this he does not need to go to Uttarakhand, his vote will reach there automatically. When elections are announced, the returning officer of the area sends postal ballots to such voters. It contains the name and election symbol of the candidates. The service voter has to tick the candidate or party of his choice. After this it has to be sealed in an envelope and sent. For this the commanding officer appoints an officer.

How does a service voter's wife cast her vote?
Now the question is that if someone is a service voter and he is posted somewhere outside with his entire family, then how can his wife or family members vote. The wife of a service voter also gets the facility of a service voter, that is, she can also put her vote in the envelope from a distance. However, no other family member gets this facility.
