Electoral bonds are issued by State Bank of India. That means if you want to buy bonds, you will have to buy them from SBI. The smallest bond is of Rs 1,000 and the largest is of Rs 1 crore. However, there is no limit on the number of bonds one can buy. During the election season, the sale of electoral bonds increases tremendously and political parties become rich.
Necessary condition for receiving donation
Now let us also know the answer to that question that which are those political parties which cannot receive these election donations. Actually, electoral bonds can be issued only to those parties which have received recognition from the Election Commission, i.e. the party has been registered. Apart from this, the vote share of the party receiving election donations should be 1 percent or more in the Lok Sabha or Assembly elections.
The rules regarding election donations have been made very easy, any person, group or corporate company can buy them. The political party has to encash this bond within 15 days of its issuance. Before every Lok Sabha election, political parties, especially the party in power, receive huge donations.
