Air India pilot Srishti Tuli ended her life after being blocked on WhatsApp by her boyfriend, Aditya Pandit, for 12 days. The police arrested Pandit for abetment to suicide following a complaint from Tuli’s father, alleging years of controlling behavior and mental harassment. The relationship was marked by arguments and controlling actions, culminating in the final WhatsApp block and Tuli’s devastating decision.

New Delhi: After being blocked on WhatsApp by her boyfriend, Aditya Pandit, for 12 days, Air India pilot Srishti Tuli tragically ended her life. On the 13th day, Srishti reportedly called Aditya to inform him of her intent to take her own life.

Aditya rushed to her residence, but upon arriving, found the door locked. With the help of a locksmith, he gained entry, only to find Srishti’s body hanging from the ceiling fan. She had used a data cable to take this devastating step.

Aditya has since been arrested by Powai Police on charges of abetment to suicide, based on a complaint filed by Srishti’s father. The FIR alleges that Aditya’s constant control over Srishti’s choices and lifestyle led her to unbearable mental distress.

First pilot from Gorakhpur

Srishti was the first Air India pilot from Gorakhpur. Srishti and Aditya had been in a relationship for two years, during which time several conflicts reportedly arose. According to the FIR, Aditya often pressured Srishti to conform to his way of living. He objected to her food preferences, disapproving of her liking for non-vegetarian food, as he was strictly vegetarian. One such disagreement reportedly turned into a public humiliation for Srishti.

The relationship was also marked by arguments over trivial matters. During one shopping trip, a fight in the car led to an accident. Aditya allegedly left Srishti stranded on the road after the incident, forcing her to call a friend for help to reach home.

Emotional toll of repeated arguments

Despite these recurring issues, Srishti held on to the relationship, believing that things would eventually improve. However, the announcement of Aditya’s sister’s wedding became another source of tension. Aditya insisted on Srishti attending the wedding and the resulting argument led to Aditya blocking her on WhatsApp.

Unable to cope with the emotional turmoil, Srishti reached out to Aditya one last time on the night of October 25, informing him of her intentions. By the time Aditya arrived at her home, it was too late.

Police investigation

Srishti’s father, in his statement, accused Aditya of mental harassment and controlling behavior, which he believes drove his daughter to this extreme decision.

Acting on this complaint, the police have arrested Aditya Pandit under the charge of abetment to suicide.
