While giving gifts to one crore more central employee pensioners on Diwali, the Modi government at the Center had increased the dearness allowance and dearness relief by three percent. After this, dearness allowance has reached 50 to 53 percent. Now the next dearness allowance will be increased in the new year 2025. With this, discussion has started with the Eighth Pay Commission regarding the outstanding DA arrears of 18 months before the next budget 2025-26.

After 3 years the employee has regained some hope

According to some media reports, it is considering the possibility of paying the area for 18 months by the end of this year or in the new year. Officials of the employee organization believe that there will be no settlement on government arrears till the end of this year. Can make a big announcement, however, no official statement has come from the government regarding this yet. But these discussions have given the employees some hope after 3 years.

Old outstanding DA arrears

Actually, DA arrears of central employees-pensioners are outstanding from July 2020 to January 2021. Because 4 years ago, during the Corona period, the Central Government had banned the dearness allowance/dearness relief of 48 lakh central employees and 64 lakh pensioners. Which they have been demanding for a long time.

In August, Rajya Sabha members Javed Ali Khan and Ramjilal Sharma had asked whether the government is working to pay the arrears withheld to the employees during the Corona period or not and explain the reason for not releasing the payment. On this, Minister of State Pankaj Chaudhary had made it clear in the Rajya Sabha that the arrears of 18 months will not be received. Now before the upcoming budget, talks have started once again regarding DA.

If DA Arrears are paid then you will get up to Rs 2.20 lakh?
Shivgopal Mishra of National Council of JCM says! That the DA arrears of Level-1 employees ranges from Rs 11,880 to Rs 37,554. The calculation will be done for Level-13 (7TH CPC Basic Pay Scale Rs 1,23,100 to Rs 2,15,900) or Level-14 (Pay Scale Rs 1,23,100 to Rs 2,15,900).

So in the hands of an employee, the amount of dearness allowance arrears to be paid is Rs 1,44,200 to Rs 2,18,200. If the basic salary of the employee is Rs 18,000. So he can get the outstanding DA arrears for 3 months Rs 4,320+3,240+4,320 = Rs 11,880.

If the basic salary of the employee is Rs 56,000. He is to be paid 3 months DA arrears of Rs 13,656 + 10,242 + 13,656 = Rs 37,554. Level-13 (7TH CPC Basic Pay Scale Rs. 1,23,100 to Rs. 2,15,900). For Level-14 (Pay Scale), DA arrears to be paid are Rs 1,44,200 to Rs 2,18,200.

These figures are shown as an example and are subject to change.
