Enemy driven from border villages, 17 Israeli soldiers killed: Hezbollah
Beirut, October 4 (IANS). Hezbollah has claimed that its fighters killed 17 Israeli soldiers in the day-long clash near the border. The group also said that after about 10 hours of clashes, Hezbollah fighters managed to stop Israeli troops advancing towards the south-eastern villages of Adaiseh and Kafr Kila.
According to Xinhua news agency, Lebanese and Hezbollah sources said that after the Israeli army withdrew from the border line, the intensity of the clashes between the two sides reduced and it was limited to only rocket and artillery firing.
Lebanese military sources said that Israeli forces had entered the villages of Adaiseh and Kafr Kila. After which violent clashes took place between Hezbollah and the Israeli army on Thursday afternoon.
About 50 Israeli soldiers crossed the blue line separating Lebanon and Israel. Along with this, artillery shelling and air strikes were carried out, in which many cities and villages of the area were targeted.
Hezbollah said in separate statements that its fighters targeted Israeli troops with rockets and artillery near the villages of Adaiseh and Kafr Kila on Thursday.
The Lebanese terror group said it launched 30 military operations on Thursday, hitting dozens of sites, command centers and artillery positions in northern Israel.
The Israeli military has not yet commented on the clashes.
