Felix, Paolini, Navarro will be the main attractions in Adelaide International Tennis Tournament
Adelaide, 29 November. Felix Auger-Aliassime, Jasmine Paolini are among the big stars set to take part in the ATP 250 event Adelaide International, with tournament director Alicia Molik confirming the players competing in the tournament to be held from 6 to 11 January 2025.
Felix (former world No. 6) and two of the WTA’s top 10 ranked players Jasmine Paolini, Emma Navarro, as well as world No. 13 Diana Schnyder will compete in Adelaide early next year.
Apart from these, in the men’s category, 2022 champion Thanasi Kokkinakis, world number 12 Tommy Paul, world number 22 Sebastian Korda and Jessica Pegula and Barbora Krejcikova will also participate in the tournament.
“The talent we have selected to compete so far is exceptional and we are confident that fans will be treated to some great matches,” Molik said. Each of these players bring something unique to the court and we can’t wait to see them compete on The Drive.
“Felix has proven himself to be one of the most exciting and competitive young players on the ATP Tour and his presence in Adelaide will certainly add to the excitement of the event. Jasmine was a singles finalist at Wimbledon this year and won the title at the 2024 Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships to start her season. And Emma is one of the most exciting young players to watch. We hope she will be a strong contender.
Auger-Aliassime won his first ATP Tour title at the Rotterdam Open in 2022, a major milestone in his career. Canadian players have consistently reached the second week of a Grand Slam, their best result being a US Open semi-final in 2021.
World No. 4 Paolini will bring her competitive spirit to Navarro, the world No. 8 and one of the rising stars of American tennis.
Navarro, an honoree at the 2024 Hobart International, has made great strides in her career, and her strong play will certainly make an impact.
Paul, who is at a career-high No. 12 in the ATP rankings, has enjoyed his most successful season in 2024, winning three titles. After reaching the semi-finals in 2020, the Americans are back and will join a packed field with Auger-Aliassime at the tournament from January 6-11.
2022 champion Thanasi Kokkinakis, as well as world No. 22 Sebastian Korda, will also compete in The Drive.
