Kathmandu, 30 November (Hindustan Reporter). Nepal’s Foreign Minister Dr. Arju Rana, who returned to Kathmandu on Saturday from a two-day visit to China, has said that China has agreed to the proposal for implementation agreement of the BRI project. His bilateral meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi took place in Chengdu city.
In a press conference at Kathmandu Airport, Dr. Rana said that China has agreed to Nepal’s proposal regarding the BRI project and new agreements will be made according to this agreement. He said that the framework of the agreement has been prepared based on the agreement reached between the two countries regarding BRI in 2017. He also claimed that Nepal is firm on its stand of not taking any kind of loan under BRI and China is also firm on this matter. Dr Rana said that before joining the government, Nepali Congress had put forth its point before the ruling CPN (UML) about not taking any kind of loan under BRI.
