PM Awas Yojana: PM Modi started it on 25 June 2015
PM Modi had started the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, all the homeless citizens of India are given housing i.e. houses by the Central Government. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) on 25 June 2015. Then the main goal of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana was that every family living below the poverty line should have their own house by the year 2023 so that they do not have to take a house on rent. The government claims that this target has almost been achieved.
PM Awas Yojana: Who can apply under PM Awas Yojana?
The eligibility criteria for applying under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PM Awas Yojana Apply Online 2024) have been decided by the Government of India. According to this, the age of the applicant should be less than 70 years. There should not be any house or flat in the name of the applicant or any member of his family. The applicant should not have taken any kind of government exemption for purchasing the house, the ownership of the house should either be in the name of a woman, or there should be only men in the family.
Apart from this, the maximum annual income of the applicant’s family should not exceed Rs 18 lakh. For this, the applicant has been divided economically into four different parts. These include Economically Weaker Section (EWS) – Those with annual total income less than Rs 3 lakh. Lower Income Group (LIG) – Rs 3 lakh to Rs 6 lakh per annum, Middle Income Group-1 (MIG-I) – Rs 6 lakh to Rs 12 lakh per annum and Middle Income Group-2 (MIG-II) – Rs 12 lakh to Rs. Groups with annual income of Rs 18 lakh are included. However, government help for repair or improvement of house is available only for EWS or LIG category.

1. On the official website of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Citizen AssessmentUnder the menu select “Benefit under other 3 components” option.
2. Enter your 12 digit Aadhaar number and name.
3. On the PMAY application page that opens after verification of Aadhaar number, enter the necessary information like your personal information, income and bank statement.
4. Enter the captcha by ticking the I am aware of… checkbox and click on the Save button.
5. After this, save the system generated application number that appears for future.
6. Download and print the completed PMAY application form.
7. After this, go to your nearest Common Service Center (CSC) or financial institutions/banks and submit the application form along with the necessary documents.
8. After this, you can track the status of your PMAY application online on the same website through assessment ID, or name, father’s name and mobile number.
