Students at the girls college hostel were in fear after some men barged in last night and created ruckus, even banging on doors of some rooms.

Noida: Ruckus ensued at a government girls’ college in Gautam Buddh Nagar district last night after a group of hostel students claimed several men had barged their way in and tried to forcibly enter some rooms. The students also complained to the college management but claimed no action was taken by them.

The students alleged some men trespassed into the hostel wing of the KM Mayawati Government Girls Polytechnic College in the Badalpur area village late Monday night. The men reportedly created a ruckus in the hostel and also banged on the doors of some students’ rooms after they alerted the police.

Dadri SDM Anuj Nehra and Bdalpur ACP arrived at the spot and were met with angry rants from the students who complained that the college management did not take any action despite being informed about the incident. Preliminary investigation revealed that 10 out of the 11 CCTV cameras in the college were not functioning.

The situation remained tense throughout the night as the girls reported to be living in fear following the incident. The students also informed their parents about it following which the SDM lashed out at the principal and ordered that the CCTV cameras be fixed urgently and fencing is also done at the boundary walls of the college.

Nehra also ordered to conduct an inquiry into the incident and ascertain the identity of the miscreants who entered the college. Police have also been asked to ensure safety of the female students.
