Government will start farmer awareness campaign from May 29, Shivraj Singh Chauhan told benefits

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said on Thursday that the government announced the 15 -day All India Campaign starting on May 29 in view of the upcoming Kharif sowing season. Its purpose 1-1. 5 crore farmers have to be made aware of modern technology and new seed varieties. According to the news of PTI, the campaign called ‘Developed Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan’ is scheduled during the period from May 29 to June 12 and its target is 1-1 of 700 districts of the country. 5 crore farmers have to reach.

Center will form 2,000 teams

According to the news, with the cooperation of the states, the Center will form 2,000 teams of agricultural scientists, officials and progressive farmers and others. Each team will have three meetings every day at the district level. Its purpose is to reach 10-12 lakh farmers every day. Chauhan emphasized on improving agricultural extension services to promote productivity and production of all major crops. He emphasized on new technology and research work done in laboratories within a fixed time limit to the farmers’ fields.

State Agriculture Ministers urge to lead

Chauhan said that between May 29 to June 12, agricultural scientists and officials will remain among the farmers. Chauhan said that teams will create awareness about climate-friendly seed varieties, availability of fertilizers, monsoon forecasts and benefits of existing government programs. He urged the state’s agricultural ministers to lead the campaign in their respective states. Chauhan said that he will also write letters to the Chief Ministers of the state to make this campaign a success.

There is also a lot of difference in crop yield in states

The minister said that there is immense potential for development in the agriculture sector, which need to be realized by the joint efforts of the Center and the states. He said that crop productivity in India is less than a global average and needs to increase the yield by adopting modern technology and best agricultural practices. There is also a lot of difference in crop yield in various states. The first goal should be to bridge this difference and then set goals to meet global standards. He also talked about protecting soil health and said that soil health cards issued by the government should be used for the correct use of fertilizers.
