New Delhi: Ever since the revolver misfire incident, fans have been concerned about the health of actor-politician Govinda. While admirers of the 60-year-old star are praying for his speedy recovery, many are hoping he will be discharged from the hospital soon and return to the warmth of his home. Giving an update on the situation, Tina Ahuja reportedly said on Wednesday (October 2, 2024) that the family is hopeful for his early discharge.

She was quoted by PTI as saying, “God has been very kind, and Govinda is getting better.” She added that he has been moved from the ICU to a normal ward and is receiving drips as well as antibiotics.

Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, stated that he would be discharged either on Thursday or Friday. She also urged fans not to panic, assuring them that Govinda will be back to dancing in a few months.

Mumbai Crime Branch begins investigation

Govinda was treated by Dr Ramesh Agarwal at the medical facility following the incident. The bullet struck him below his left knee, requiring 8-10 stitches. Sunita, who was in Jaipur at the time of the incident, immediately returned to Mumbai after hearing the shocking news.

For the unversed, Govinda sent shockwaves through the showbiz world on Tuesday (October 1, 2024) when his revolver accidentally discharged at his Mumbai residence. At that time, the Hero No 1 of the silver screen was about to leave for the airport.

In order to investigate the incident, personnel from the Mumbai Crime Branch have met with Govinda. However, so far, no complaint has been lodged in this matter.
